GERMAN COMMENT ON THE BILL
(Received Jan. 10, 10.30 a.m.) AMSTERDAM,. Jan. 9. The Koelnische Volkszeitung,- m an angry article oil the British, compul-'. sion law, says the German fleet must act. Britain will become quite uncontrollable if she is allowed to^ send millions of men to the Continent. Germany is really fighting for the freedom' of the whole of Europe when striving to break England's rule. The Lokal Anzeiger says Mr Asquith has gained a great Parliamentary victory, and the majority for the Military Bill surpassed all expectation, as renunciation of the right of deciding for oneself is one of the greatest ( sacrifices an Englishman could make. •' As far as the Germans are concerned' the Bill is only political and of no military significance, and it will not influence the issue-of the war. j
