The-High Commissioner reports under date London, January(oth, at 5.30 a.m.: "The Admiralty announces that the battleship King Edward VII. struck a inine, and owing to the heavy seas she had to.be abandoned: She sank shortly -afterwards. There was no lossi of life, .and onb? two were injured. '~
[The King Edward was launched in 1903 and had a tonnage of I^OO. Sh? •carried four 12-inch guns, four 9.2-inch, and ten 6-in.ch.]
