NORMANBY.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) WOUNDED SOLDIERS' FUND. A meeting of the committee was held on Jriday, when Messrs Free (chairman), liowe, Linn, Andre,va,. Hadler Fame and Hopcroft, were present. The secretary reported that the fund at present amounted to £310 13& cash m the bank and in hand, and: there were still some donations to come^ irr. A vote of thanks was passed to Messrs C. Andrews, Parelow and H. Laurent for gratuitously driving- stock to the sale, and also to the Loan and Mercantile Company for selling free of commission The Chairman and Mr Hopcroft were instructed to interview the Mayor of Hawera as to the action to be taken regarding the funds by other bodies in Taranaki, Normanby wishing- to fell in with them. NATIVE LAND COURT. The sitting of the Native Land Court was resumed on Monday afternoon, Judge Jack presiding. There- are a large number of cases to be heard, and ifc is expected that the sitting will last about 14 days. A large number of natives are in town, and are encamped in | the buildings of the Horticultural Society.
