SOCIAL. A social in aid of the Wounded Soldiers Fund was held in the hall on luesday evening, when there was a very fair attendance. Songs were given by Miss Putt ("My Am iolk"), Mr H. L Betts ("The Blacksmith), Mr Blackman ("British Everyone") and Mr Templer ("Sleeping Camp,"' and, tor an encore, "The Postillion"). Mr Pine also danced an Irish jig, and the Masters Rawlinson sang a duet. The ladies provided the supper, and there was plenty and to spare. The dance music was well played by the Holly Bank Orchestra. During the evening a war note given by Sister Nellie, was auctioned. It realised £5 16s, and was again given back by the last purchser., and will be again put up on some future occsion. Those who purchased it were Messrs Chivers and King, at £1; Mr A. Carroll, at 10s; Messrs F. Doyle, J. Barclay, Hollis, Innes, Blackman, Worsley, E. J. Betts, Wood, Blair, Phillips, and Mesdames Smith and Looney and Miss King, at ss; Mrs Lees and G. Johns, 2s 6d; and Mr Mortimer, 3s. Th© takings at the door amounted to £6 3s.
