As printed on Thursday, our Mokoia notes contained an error. The presentation was made to* Mr T. E. Bickford and Mr A. 0. Williams, not to Mr G. Williams, as stated in the report. A local lady (says the Waitara Mail)' acknowledges the receipt of the following from an anonymous correspondent: "Many thanks for feather. Happened to show it to a young lady to-day, who recognised the writing, f have expected to hear that you have volunteered as nurse, but then again you are a bit awkward. However, I hope your fowls don't feel the cold this weather; you will have to get some bacon if they don't lay. Sorry I have had to keep you waiting so long for a reply, but did not think you were so common." Evidently there are some white feathers being distributed in the town, but the recipient of the letter has not taken part in the distribution, and her fowls at home happen to be black. The writer of the letter evidently keenly resents the white feather being sent to him, but puts up no defence against what is implied. _ Don't leave the 'lightness and digestibility of your scones and cakes to chance.
