WELLINGTON, May 27. At the quarterly meeting of the council of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association, the report of the management committee dealing with matters considered by the committee since the last council meeting was presented. It submitted the question of inter-island representative matches (A and B teams) to the council for favorable consideration. The committee expressed the opinion that the right to re-handi-cap players after the first round should not continue. The suggestion of the council to use the Ayres ball at the next New Zealand championships, to be played at Wellington, if satisfactory arrangements can be made, was adopted by the committee. It was reported that no challenges for the Davis Cup had been received by the Australasian Association, and that the Australasian championships had been allotted to the Queensland Association.

It was decided that the matte*- of adopting or approving of one or moie makes of ball for the New Zealand championship meeting in each year be referred to each affiliated association in each year for its opinion, and the matter to be decided at a subsequent meeting of the council.

It was agreed that this association instruct its delegate or delegates od the council of the Lawn Tennis Association of Australasia to move at the next meeting of that council that the accumulated Davis- Cup funds -be how distributed, on the basis of two-thirds to the affiliated State associations and one-third to the New Zealand Association.

The financial statement for the period February 1 to April 23 showed receipts during that time amounting to £12 12s and expenditure amounting to £94'11s 9d. Cash balances are: At Savings Bank £563 9s lld, in hand and at Bank of New Zealand £10 10s 4d.
