HIGH COMMISSIONERS MESSAGE.
The High Commissioner reports from London on 25th May at 3.35 p.m.: — Army officers: Killed 51; wounded, 112; gassed, 1; missing, 10. Men: Gas-killed, 5; killed, 443; wounded, 472; gassed, 1; missing, 17; prisoners, Dardanelles: Naval men: Killed 19, wounded 82. North of La Bassee the British attacks resulted in fresh progress. Supplementary reports emphasise the importance of the Allies' success on Sunday north-east of Notre Dame de Lorette. In a desperate bayonet fight they annihilated their opponents, capturing several mitrailleuses.
