PATRIOTIC GIFTS.
WELLINGTON, May '71. The Wellington Commercial Travellers' Club to-day handed Mr Ma&ser a cheque for £250 for the hospital ship funds. Apart from this the Intern-il Affairs. Department has aL-s.dy ;iekrowledged receipt of £689 10s for the fund, including £50 from the Governor.
The Colonial Motor Company has presented to the Patriotic Society a motor ambulance waggon, to be v*perialiy built to the instruction of two city medical men connected with th-?. society. The intention of the company is that the car shall be used for the conveyance of disabled soldiers and sailors to thtir homes upon their return to Wellington from the front. The company has also given the society permission to dispose of the car after the war in sxxch a manner as it may think fit."
CHRISTCHURCH, May 2i. . The Red Cross Committee of the St. John Ambulance Association and Brigade have been notified of the following subscriptions to the fund for the equipment of the hospital ship and the care of the wounded.in the Mediterranean: Mr and Mrs Arthur E. G. Rhodes £500, the Hon. R. Heaton Rhodes and Mrs Rhodes £500.
