DRILL AND SPORT

AUCKLAND.. * May 20. A movement is on foot among sports bodies in Auckland too arrange that one Saturday be given to drilling all suitable men for each Saturday given to sport. The Hockey Association executive is enthusiastically in favor of the proposal. The bod.es controlling football also support the _ idea. Other .similar bodies in other cities are* to be approached.
NEW ZEALANDERS IN GERMANY
NAPIER, May 21., . Relatives of Mr C. J. King, of Napier, formerly proprietor of the Terminus Hotel 5 yesterday received a wire from the High Commissioner in London that King and bis wife were in Berlin. "King for a time was interned ill a civilian camp, but had now been released. Mr Mackenzie- states that he has been able from time to time to assist King with money. Shortly before the war Mr and Mrs King left Napier on a trip home, and were in Berlin when war" was declared.
(Mr 'King is well known in both Stratford and Hawera, haying resided here before going to Napier.)
