SHORTAGE OF DOCTORS AND
NURSES.

WELLINGTON, May 20. Dr. Barclay, Medical Superintendent of the Wellington Hospital, complained to-day to the Board that the military demands for nurses and doctors had already v.vaKened ti>e stienglh of his staff, an.l the position threatenel to become alarmingly acute. He suggested, in /the interests of the patients, that the Government should be asked to prevent further drains on the hospitals of the Dominion. He did not know where to turn in the immediate futur© for house surgeons and nurses. Private medical men would-have to be asked to help. .
