NEW PLYMOUTH SESSIONS
At the Supreme Court at New Plymouth on Tuesday, Florence Layinia Walls, who had pieaded guilty in the lower court to a charge of concealing the birth of a child, was ordered to come up. for sentence when called upon. Joseph Haseltine, a member of a travelling circus company, charged with having committed rape on Margaret Putara, a Maori girl aged 12 >ears 9 months, at Rahotu, on April '9th, was found guilty and sentenced to sis years' imprisonment. A decree nisi was granted in the divorce case George. Hopkins versus Elizabeth Mary Hopkins and John Ghadwick.
