HAWERA METHODIST SUNDAY SCHOOL.

ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS.

The celebrations in connection with the 32nd anniversary of the Hawera Methodist Sunday School were continued in Wesley Hall on Tuesday evening, when a thoroughly happy time was spent. Mr E. Dixon pre-. sided.

The annual report disclosed a very satisfactory position, the; membership being shown as 244, with an average attendance of 178. There was a credit balance of £6 18s 9d.

The following pupils gained diplomas during the year:—Doris Peterson (oth year), Annie Yearbury, Olive Grindrod, and John Blayney (4th year), Maida Squire, Gwen James, Olive Streeter, and Cyril Burton (3rd year), Dor* Sheat, Phylls Blayney,- Eileen Petersen, Lizzie Reid, Lea Walker, Veraon Burton, Neville James, and Hazel Nairn (2nd year), lima Duggan, Evelyn Beaurepaire, Thelma Dixon, Vera Cftmmings, Oliver Reese, Erie Adams, Jack Cressey and Frank Row© (Ist year).

It was reported that during the year a Band of Hope had been started by Mr A. Perkins with ""gratifying results.

The pupils contributed a number of pleasing selections, the solos being taken by Olive Grindrod, Bessie Black, and Mabel Rudge. Doris Petersen," *gave a recitation. Mr H. Ackroyd, as conductor, had the children well in hand, and he was assisted by Mrs Kil-^----vington at the organ and Mr C. Morshead at the piano. The prizes were presented by the - Rev. E. O. Blamires. who 6poke a kindly word to each recipient.
