TARANAKI PRESBYTERY.

This Presbytery met iriHawera Pres- .'•- byterian Church, on Thursday, October ' - 1, with the Rev. Mr Pattison in the ; chair. There were also present ..the V • Rev. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs Halliwell and Bremner.. -," • The clerk repoi'ted that Messrs Stew- . '1 art, Dunlon, .and Butlor had been.ordained as Home Missionaries. •'• ■ ' The Rev. Messrs Mclvor, Welsh, arid- , ■ v Pattison, and Messrs Murray, Hunter,..' • and Hopkirk were appointed delegate*/1 to the Assembly, meeting in Dunedin' " on November ISfchj and the clerk wasauthorised to appoint substitutes if ne- • cessniy. The Rev. Wm. Shirer,' of Newtown> was nominated as Moderator' of the"'-" Assembly for 1915. . Interesting reports were given by the " Home Missionaries on the work;iri Wai- • tara, Inglewood, Kaponga, Patea, and -: Whangamomona, and Normanby.' The * Presbytery has a worthy staff and loyair: assistants in these fields. The Rev. Mr Roseveare reported <m. ' Home Missionaries' sermons, and ten—- "■ dered useful criticism. In the report of ihe youth, of the church he spoke of Bible Class progress," and suggested that some effort be made to keep «, record of all children who had signed the' ■ pledge. It was agreed to take steps to form a pessibn at Inglewood (the session of New. v, Plymouth to see to this). N Messrs Pattison, Roseveare and • Howes were appointed to represent the Presbytery at the dedication of Knox • Church, Waitara. Various remits from the Assembly ' were dealt with; and the Presbytery finally adjourned to meet on February. 4th, 1915. -.
