PATRIOTIC FUNDS.

A meeting of the Patriotic War Fund Committee was held on Tuesday afternoon r when it was decided to close the: fund. Colonel Malonei's suggestion with reference; to a Regimental Fund was discussed, when it was left in. Mr F. G. Kimbell's hands to arrange a conference of delegates of the different Patriotic Committees in Taranald, to go into the whole question. Mr Kimbell has arranged a conference for tomorrow afternoon, at 2 o'clock, to be held in the Borough Chambers. The committee is of the opinion that the question is one in which united action shoxild be taken. The proposed Dominion Fund will also be considered.

The 'committee desires to thank Mr G. F. Hutchm&on for having conveyed Mr Conroy, free of charge to Wanganui on Sunday in order that he might catch the early train at Wanganui to enable him to h© in Wellington for the deputation to the Premier on Monday Bight. -v * ;
