FOOD SUPPLY MEASURES AND REGULATIONS.
(Received Aug. 12, 12.30 p.m.) PARIS, Aug. 11. Le Matin says the French and American banks ha\-e opened a gold credit of thirty million francs to the Government's account to purchase corn and other foodstuffs. Le Matin adds1 that large quantities of grain in the United States and the Argentine have already been bought for shipment to Prance and Britain. CAPETOWN', Aug. 11. To allay rumors the Government has issued a message to the natives explaining the facts of the war. The Government has guaranteed instance of wheat consignments ex Australia. The citizens of C:i j^town have formed a committee to r. dilate the price of foodstuffs.
