LABOR REGIMENT OFFERED

AUCKLAND, Aug. 12

A conference of prominent Labor leaders authorised Lieuts>n.ant-C'olonel Bell to offer the Defence Department, on uehaif of Labor, a regiment for service at Home or abroad. The speakers emphasised the fact- that although Labor had its troubles in the past, and would have in the future, they would in time of a great crisis present a unite*! front for the Empire. Colonel 801 l said he appreciated the fine spirit shown, and would have great pleasure in conveying the offer to the Department.
