A CHAMBER OF COMMERCE APPEAL.

LONDON, Aug. 11. The Association of Chambers of Commerce issued an appeal to the overseas dominions. Within the past week a very laige number of orders for goods have been cancelled, reduced in. volume, or their delivery postponed, possibly due to the temporary advance in price, but more to the uncertainty regarding war risks. The Government has provided against both, therefore they appeal to traders not only to confirm their orders but to increase them. The Mother Country, they say, has a large mass of industrial population. Manufacturers are doing their best to keep them ir. employment, but they cannot succeed if their* customers suspend their orders or delay payment for goods already shipped. The Association is satisfied that it their kinsmen overseas know the facts they will not overlook this practical means of assisting.
