PATRIOTIC FUND AND BOYS' BAND.
- It has been arranged that the public meeting called by the Mayor shall take place at the Winter Show'huildin^s this evening prior to the performance by the Wellington Boys' Band. The management of the band having consented to this arrangement, the municipal authorities are pnxious that the band's receipts should not suffer, as they might do, seeing that admission to the public meeting is free and the hall could not weii bo cleared again prior to the band's performance. It has, therefore, been decided to take up a collection instead of charging at the door, and it is suggested that those who intend remaining to hear the band should come prepared tor the collection.
