Mrs Hailey, mothei- of Mr A. P. Bjailey, of Gisborne, and formerly of Rotorua, who left Vancouver on May 21, intending to embark on the Empress of Ireland, has received a cablegram stating that he was aboard, and that there w no hope of his having l>eeu saved.
