McCarthy—robinson

St. John's Methodist Church, Kapor.ga, was crowded on Thursday, when the Rev. F. Rands joined in matrimony Miss Ivy Robinson and Mr H McCarthy, both of Kaponga. The brHe, who was given away by ier father, looked charmiig in a dress of Hypatia satin, with pearl trimr.ing tnd Mussels lace, and a court train attached. Miss Violet Robinson, as bridesmaid, wove a dress of white Japanese silk, triir-med with silk guipure lace and a grey picture hat with pink roses and ostricih plume. The bride wore the customary wreath and veil, and she and the bridesmaid carried beautiful bouquets. Mr H. G. Allen wae best man. At the conclusion of the ceremony the guests assembled for afternoon tea at Sea Viu. The Rev. F. Rands proposed the health of the happy couple, and the bridegroom suitably responded. As president of the Kaponga Men's Hockey Club, Mr Rands took "the opportunity \ of presenting Mr McCarthy, who is a prominent hockey player, with a pair of silver candlesticks, with the good wishes of his clubmates, who were responsible for the gift. The other piesents receivedwwye°ye numerous find, valuable, including 70 odd kitchen utensils which were given as the result of a kitchen tea tendered by Mrs J. W. Carter in the Parish Hall on the previous Tuesday for the prospective bride's honor. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a handsomo set of furs and to the bridesmaid a manicure set; that from the bride to the iTidegroom being a travelling bag. Early in tho afternoon the newly-wedded pair left by motor to catch the train for the south! where the honeymoon will be spent! The bride's going-away chess was a brown tweed costume and 33ulgarian plush hat to match. The best wishes of their numerous friends go with them.
