RIVERLEA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The rainfall for April was 7.03 inches on 21 days. The highest fail was 1.08 on the,, loth, and tne lowest 0.01 on the 4th. Last year, 3.12 inches fell on 13 days. The rainfall for April exceeded that of the first three months of the year combined by 0.56 inches, the fall for the quarter being only 6.47 inches on 26 days, and in, April 7.03 on 21 days. The, milk supply at the factory is now getting very low, and some suppliers are milking only once a day. I expect the factory will be running only every second day soon now, and also be soon turning to butter-making again.

I have not heard of many changes in this district yet for the coming year, the only ones I know of being Mr Taylor, who has sold his farm and has bought Mr W. Searle's at Awatuna, and Mr G. Keheley, whose lease of Mrs Tobin's farm has expired and who is going to Bunnythorpe. Mr W. White, of Glenn road, takes over Mr Keheley's. and Mr Hay, of Oeo, MiTaylor's. .

I went to Kaponga on Fi-iday evening to hear Mr L. M. Isitt, of the "Flying Squadron," on the sins of the Reform Government, but was rather disappointed, for the speech as a political one was a very poor attempt. It was a well delivered address, as one ■would expect from a platform orator of Mr Isitt's experience, but contained very little of political interest and certainly gave no idea of what the Opposition intended to do if by any mischance they got Lack into power ■next December./ I certainly don't think they will get far if they cannot •do anything beyond crying "stinking fish." Mr Isitt worked himself into a fine frenzy over the "campaign of slander," which, he stated, got the Reform party into power. He forgot evidently that the Reform party had a clear and definite and apparently the "Liberals" have not, which is unfortunate-—for- them.
