On Sunday last, in the local schoolroom, our first christening took place. The little one is the offspring of Mrs Harrison, Auckland, who is a daughter of Mrs Batten, Waingongoro bridge. There was a large cougregation v the Rev. Mr Davies being the officiating clergyman. Mr Wm. Redding, contractor. Tokaora, had the misfortune on Saturday last to have one of his valuable draught horses drop dead while it was walking with its mates in the team.
