MEREMERE RIFLE CLUB.

The annual general meeting of the Meremere Defence Rifle Club was held in the Ohangai School on April 20, at 8 p.m. The president (Mr H. Shrimpton) occupied the chair, and there was a. good attendance of members. The balance-sheet was read and adopted. Mr H. Shrimpton was re-elected as president, and Mr A. Shrimpton as honorary secretary and treasurer. General Committee: Messrs H. Cochranes R. Davis, G. Thorburn, H. Roberts, T. Wilson, with president and secretary; finance committee: Messrs R. Bueklej, P. Murphy, H. Cochrane, with president and secretary ; auditors: Messrs P. Murphy and Rs Buckley (reelected). The secretary was voted a sum of 50s for past services. Arrangements for the official opening of the new range and for cup competitions were left in the hands of the general committee. At the conclusion of the meeting a vei-y hearty vote of thanks was accorded the Ohangai School Committee for the use of school for holding the general meeting. The funds were shown to be in a very satisfactory state.
