NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY REPORT.

On Friday, 6th inst, at Urenui, for my supplementary sheep fair, I had a full yarding, sheep coming forward in excess of advertised numbers. Other prices were: Weaner steers, 17s to 27s 6d; weaner heifers, 7s to £1 15s; mixed weaners, 16s to £1 lls; 18-months heifers, color, £3 4s 6d; bulls, £4 5s to £6 17s 6d; springing heifers, £3 12s 6d; 18-monthß steers, £2 Is to £3 Us; forward cows, £4 3s 6d to £5 lls; store cows, £1 5s to £3 18s. On Wednesday, 11th- inst, at my Kohuratahi yards, there was a good entry of sheep and a fair yarding of cattle. The quantity of both was not equal to the average of my previous sales in ttiese yards, consequently competition was not so keen, but fair business was done 1 privately. Prices obtained were: 15-months steers, £3 8s; 2£-year steers, £4 8s to £5 7a 6d; f.m. ewes, 2s 9d to 9s Id; 4, 6, and f.f.m. ewes, 13s to 14s; forward ewes, 13s 4d; lambs, 8s 3d to 9s 6d; culls, 3s 9d to ss; 2-tooth wethers, 14s 3d to 14s lOd; Komney rams, up to 2|gns; aged rams, up to 16s. At Toko on Thursday, 12th inst., for Mr J. .V. Shields' clearing sale, I had a fine attendance of buyers with good competition throughout for all lines offered at the following prices : Dairy cows, from £4 10s to £8; forward cows, £5; empty heifers, £4 ss; in-calf heifers, £3 to £3 15s; weaners. 6s 6d to 19s; 2-tooth ewes, 14s 8d; rams, lgn; lambs, 7s to 10s; fat ewes, 13s 3d to 14s 4d; Lincoln ewes, 16s: bulls, £3 17s 6d to £5 ss; 3-year gelding, £22 10s; gig, £8 10s.
