OPERA HOUSE PICTURES
After an interval of two nights the Opera House was again occupied by the World's Pictures on Wednesday eveningj when the management presented a programme of high general excellence. "The Curse of the Golden Land" was the chief dramatic film, and the story surrounded the life of a peasant farmer in Russia., who goes to America and becomes a wealthy business man. The story contains many interesting episodes, and is a first-rate production. Another interesting picture was that of "Sardanopolas, King of Assyria." The colored picture showing Tivoli and its cascades was very beautiful, while the Pathe Gazette was as popular as ever. " The Atheist" was another good dramatic picture. "Trouble Daughters" and . "Mother's Boy" were *> remarkably amusing comedies, and caused much, laughter. A picture dealing with a few phases of the strike in Wellington was put on. The programme was cordially received, and the Lyric Orchestra contributed to the enjoyment of the evening. The programme will be repeated to-night.
