CRICKET.

RUN-GETTING EXTRAORDINARY

BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION

TIMARU, March 5. The run-getting yesterday established a New Zealand and Australian record. There were great displays by Codv. Crawford, and Trumper. Crawford gave several chances, which would have been accepted by a firstclass field. He opened his shoulders to everything, a»nd could be likened to Jessop. He hit 14 sixes and 45 fours. Trumper played a characteristic innings, scoring all round the wickets by pretty strokes. He hit one six and 21 fours. Noble and Crawford together scored fifty in nine minutes. The bowling was good at the start, but the batsmen broke it up, and then did what they liked.
