HAWERA POULTRY SOCIETY

. A special meeting of the Hawera Poultry. Pigeon and Canary Society was held in the Oddfellows' Hall on Tuesday evening, 24 members being present. Four new members were elected. Matters in connection with the June show were discussed and a committee was set up to work in conjunction with the Winter Show Company. The secretary reported the result of his correspondence with the North Island Associ- I ation and was instructed to make further enquiries with reference to affiliation fees, permits, etc. The question of increasing the prize-money and allotting special prizes was brought forward, and after lengthy discussion, was held over for a future meeting. The Society is meeting with encouraging support and promises to become a useful institution of the town. /
