With reference to the cable relative to Cavill's death, Richard Cavill is at the present time in Sydney. It is believed that the reported death refers to some other member of the famous Australian swimming family. Later.
The Cavill referred to is Arthur, who was known as "Lums." He was a brother to Richard.
' [The original message read as follows: —New York, March 2. Richard Cavill died of exhaustion while attemptinug to swim across Seattle Harbor, which is three miles across. The water was cold and there was a strong wind. After swimming for an hour and ten minutes he became unconscious. A medical man declares that he was literally frozen to death. The circulation was so retarded tnat his heart stopped.]
