A MINISTERIAL STATEMENT
_V CABlili >_ESB AaaouIA'IION—COP_ai_HT. LONDON, March 3. Mr L. V. Harcourt (Colonial Secretary) in reply to a question, said the Governmenxa of the Commonwealth and New Zealand would, be consulted before any new arrangements were made as to the New Hebrides.
Sir F. D. Ackland, in reply to Mr Kinioch Cooke, said ne was not aware that the (kmimonwealth was prepared to entertain a suggestion to acquire the French rights in the New Hebrides by purchase or exchange. The British Government did not intend to purchase or agree vo surrender any territory elsewhere by way of exchange.
