Considerable feeling exists on the ■waterfront between the two sections of •workers,, and yesterday an assault was made upon Stanley Rickards, secretary of the new Waterside Workers' Union. Rickards. .stated that he was in his office, vwhen a man opened the back window of i_ie office, which vfaces the waterfront, and after asking why he had been rejected by the union, sprung at his throat. After a deadly •struggle outsiders rushed in and draggeed the assailant off. Later in the 'evening the man was identified and arrested.
