CORRESPONDENCE.

HAWERA TELEPHONES.

To th# Editor

Sir, —What, is the matter with' those, responsible for the working of our telephones ? One rings up and waits, and waits again until patience is nearly exhausted, only to !be cut off in the middle of the conversation one has gone to such trouble to hold: I don't think that you could find a town in the length and breadth of New Zealand with a worse telephone service than Hawera. What would happen if the police or a doctor were wanted in a hurry? -.._.;
