SHIPPING MATTERS.

WELLINGTON, March 3. A conference was held this morning between Mr Massey and Mr Rhodes and representatives of the Auckland and Wellington Chambers of Commerce and the Union Co., regarding the San Francisco and Vancouver mail service. The discussion centred round a flat rate for the carriage of dairy produce from all New Zealand ports, more refrigerating space on steamers trading between New Zealand,. San Francisco and Vancouver, and an alteration in booking for space. Th© result is that representatives of the Union Company are to meet representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and thrash out the details with them.
