TIMARU, March 3. ihe Australians (Armstrong, Sims, and Waddy standing out) commenced their match against the South Canterbury fifteen at Temuka this afternoon. There was a good wicket and fine weather, but the light was dull later, and stumps were drawn at 5.45 p.m. The home team won the toss and ->atted_creditably for 180 runs, Lynch, father and son, making a good stand together, adding 25. The innings lasted two hours and a half. The century was compiled in 110 minutes. Rix, an ex-Christchurch man, bowled Dolling and Layer.in his first over. Scores:
