.. SYDNEY, Dec. 23. The new Parliament has been opened \, Mr "Dick" Meagher, the caucus nominee, was the only candidate, and he was elected Speaker., . Before the meeting of the House the caucus dismissed the claims to the Speakership of Mr Morton, the late bpeaker and Mr McGowen. The voting gave Mr "Dick" Meagher a majority over the combined votes of the ether two.
