DANGEROUS LEVEL CROSSING.

PALMERSTON N., Dec 22 ~ An. «W man named Stratford was + -Y on m i •an °Pen crossing accident at y.du this evening. When a goods tram was passing the post office he was crossing the line, and apparently he did not hear the train approaching He was struck by the engine and thrown clear of the line. He, was taken to the hospital, suffering from concussion of the brain. Very little hope is entertained for his recovery.

. • Later. F,elix Stratford, who was injured in a crossing accident to-night, died half an hour after his admission to the hospital. Deceased was 78 years old. He was one of the pioneers of the district. * i
