A meeting of the Eltham branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union was held on Saturday. There was a fair attendance, and Mr Harrison presided. A letter from the, provincial executive, forwarding a list of subjects suggested- by one of the branches for discussion to popularise branch meetings, was received. The list was as follows,;; —rl. How to build up a dairy herd. 2. Best way to prepare for sowing root crops. 3. How to'lay down pastures. • 4. Fodder crops. 5. Stock troubles. 6. Points on feeding off swedes. 7. Profitable pig-keeping. 8. .Manuring pastures. 9. General management ■■. of dairy farm. ' 10' i Best method of feeding calves. The unanimous opinion was that the [.subjects could all be interestingly, and profitably discussed, and the suggestion was adopted.
