A very strong effort is being made to include this district in the tour of the Australian team which is shortly to come to New Zealand. When it is realised" that the team will include Victor Trumper, Warwick Armstrong, M. A. Noble, Vernon Ransford, Polling, of South Australia, and other good players, players and supporters will appreciate the great help such a visit would, be to stimulate players to practise and. to profit by the great exhibition, of batting and bowling and brilliant fielding that will be given.: A meeting has been called for to-morrow (Tuesday) night at Mr McCarthy's office to go into the .question. It is hoped that/ all who "are able will be present, and that anyone in sympathy with the'proposal will intimate their willingness to help. The guarantee must be fixed before December 31» The conveners specially ask players and supporters- from other parts of South Taranaki to endeavor to rouse interest in the proposed match.
