DUNEDIN, Dec. 21. A sports meeting in connection with the visit of the American athletes was held on Saturday. The weather was fine, but' heavy rain which fell in the morning made the track heavy.. About 3000 people were present. Results: 110 Yards Handicap.—Andrews, 6$ yds, 1; Barton, 5 yds, 2; Perkins, 2 yds, 3. ; Putting 16 lb. Weight.—Catighey (U.S.A.), ser., 42 ft 5. in> 1: Rei£ (Southland), 89 ft ,1 in, 2; Parker (U.S.A.), 37 ft 6 in, 3. The winner put up a New Zealand record. ..Half-mile Handicap. —Tracery 1, Swinney 2, Goon 3.; ,- ' 220 Yards Handicap.—Perkins, 5 yds, 1; Caddie, 13 yds, 2; Barton, 7 yds, 3.
, Broad Jump.—Parker (U.S.A.), 9 in, 22 ft 5 in, 1; G. Austin, 2 ft 6 in, 20 ft 6± in, 2; Reid, 1 ft, 20 ft 4 in, 3. .
120 Yards Hurdles.—Keddell, scr., 1; Robertson, 15 yds, 2. Time, 17 1-5 sec. Templeton (U.S.A.), who won the first heat, did not start in the final.
Mile Handicap.—McLennan, 130 yds* 1; Orchard, 100 yds, and Forge, 40 yds, dead heat for second place. Won easily. Power (U.S.A.) started, but gave up before two laps had been run. Throwing 16 lb Hammer. —Reid, 1; Boyne 2. Caughey (U.S.A.) also competed.
High Jump.—Reid 1, Fisher 2, • Robertson 3. Templeton (U.S.A.) also competed. '
