CONFERENCE IN CHRISTCHURCH.

The annual reports of the Social Service Associations of Wellington,, Christchureh and Dunedin showed that, there were 381 young people; in theeare of the Association, 173 being in. homes; 177 have been, taken, from. Juvenile Courts and placed under the care of agents. The totaj amount recfliyed during the year was £6721. The As^ pociations will benefit toj the extent of £1200 each as the result of a bequest. The Sabbath Schools; Exam^naifcioß Committee reported that there had been a considerable increase in the number of entrants for examinations and that the number of essays sent in was double that of the previous year.

Nurse Rogers, who has been appointed second nurse to the: Ambrym Hospital, New Hebrides, was introduced to the Assembly by Ptofessor Hewitson andi cordialjy received. y The (Yputn of the Church Comihittee reported that work among the young nad been vigcoroasly prosecuted, and in almost all sections distinct progress had been made. It was announced with regret that Rev. G. H. Hupp was retiring from the position of travelling secretary at the end of the year. Rev. H. Davis and Nurse Milne are maintained by the Bible classes in the Chinese Canton Village Mission. Sums of £1012 had been raised by Bible classes for foreign missions and over £1200 for other objects.
