LURID REVELATIONS.

NEW YORK, Dec. 8, Lurid revelations of;the "white slavers'" methods are exjfected in New York, following the arrest of Armand Megaro, a chemist's assistant, a young ■South American, who is charged with -administering a. drug with: a hypodermic syringe to Mrs Marjorie Graff ± the wife of a New York civil engineer, to whom she had beert married for only a fortnight. / ..•-- ■■■ ■;• • ■-. ;■-;• ■■'-*. \-. The woman \vas sitting in a box at •a Neve Jersey cinematograph theatre. On: Megaro taking a seat alongside her she suddenly felt a sharp prick (in one of her :mtiii9. She immediately l?eca me numb. She managed to retain ? her senses, and .staggered/to the dressings "room and informed the attendants. Then she collapsed, but she recovered, and led the police to the box,: where Megaro was still sitting. Accused was arrested, strongly protesting his inocense. He was released on bail of 4000 dollars. The police believe that this arrest will clear up the mystery which has surrounded numerous disappearances of young girls. ' ■ , '• Tn a similar case a girl was drinking an ice-cream in a "soda fountain," "when two men! seated themselves along side Jber. They injected a drug into the jsirl, who retained her senses sufficiently to call the attendants. The men claimed relationship with the girl, but the s(uspicion& of the attendants were aroused, and they called the police, the men then making off. The poison is possibly curari, an alkaloid poison obtained from the woorara tree of South America, which produces vertigo and drowsiness. The cases are principally occurring in darkened cinematograph theatres, the girls being kidnapped and removed to South America. '
