It is believed that Mac Donald, who at Liverpool shot dead Paul Gaze and Mary Crompton and wounded a youth named Roberts, is.a religious maniac. All the victims belonged to the new Church of Humanity, and Miss Crompton was instructing the others in its tenets. Mac Donald was armed with a revolver, a razor, and a bludgeon. He visited Roberts' lodgings and felled him on answering the door. Roberts took refuge in a bedroom, and MacDonald fired but missed. He then fled and later visited Gaze, who was recently married, accompanied him to a sitting room, and shot him in the temple. He then went to Miss Cromp-. ton's residence and 6hot her also iii the temple. Mac Donald then committed suicide, and died at Miss Cromptou's side. Roberts' condition is nob serious.
