FLIPPANT LEGISLATORS.
BASEBALL BEFORE BUSINESS
BY CABLE—PEEBB ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT,
WASHINGTON, Oct. 8. The interest in the world's series of baseball matches is so keen, that the Democrats flippantly questioned the Chairman of the House of Representatives as to the results of the Philadelphisa and New York contests. The Chairman replied that the question was unparliamentary, but Representative Mann persisted in declaring that it was better to adjourn in order to learn the progress of the game. After several announcements of the state of the score had been shouted across the floor, the House was unable to secure a quorum, and adjourned.
