A NOVEL EXPERIMENT.
LONDON, Oct. 8. William Cook is experimenting with 6000 Orpington hens in electric-lighted hen houses early in the evening and morning, thus artificially lengthening the hen's day. The output of eggs has increased by 30 to 40 per cent., and the growth of young chickens in the winter has been accelerated by onethird.
