WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 8. ; The Government Meteorologist telegraphed to-day as follows :^-Strong westerly winds, veering to south; weather will probably be cloudy and unsettied, with rain; barometer unsteady, with falling tendency before a decided rise; moderate tides; considerable sea on the coast. .
