THE PACIFIC CABLE
. LONDON, Sept. 15. The Pacific Cable Board is not appointing a new manager, but has promoted the accountant to the position of secretary, believing that the administration in London is purely clerical. Mr Milward will return to Australia. The Board entertains little hope of laying a British cable across the Atlantic.
