A bi<? scheme of improvement- is to be carried out on th<* Auckland Bowlir>£ Club green, "and the club will then be provided with more commodious and handsome buildings than probably those of PTiy similar club in the T>6minion. The plans for the work have been prepared by Mr G. Yv. Allsonp, and contracts for the work have just been let. The total-cast of the scheme will be £2025. The improvements will •consist of removing the present pavilion to a new site on the*grounds. It will bo widened and a new storey will be added to it. Adjoining this will be the committee room, 12ft by'24ft. Between these two rooms folding doors will be placed, so that the social room may be extended if necessary. The kitchen, with scullery and pantry connected, will also be situated on the first floor, and a lift will be fitted to the kitchen, so that tea and refreshment's may be sent down to the ground floor. The plans provide for a commodious balcony. 70ft long by 12ft wide. It will be closed in at each, end with, clear glass. From this balcony a view of the whole of the playing area will be obtained. Underneath the balcony will be a verandah equally commodious. i Both on the ground and upner floor the usual conveniences will be provided.
