(Received Sept. 6, 11.15 a.m.) OTTAWA, Sept. 5. An extraordinary development has occurred in connection with, the Thaw case, a warrant having been taken out against the New York State lawyer,. Mr Jerome, accusing him of gambling on railway property. Mr Jerome admitted that he had engaged in a card game with some newspaper men for trifling stakes. He was admitted to bail after having been brought before a magistrate.

The charge was instigated on behalf of Thaw's lawyer, with the object of preventing Mr Jerome from participating in the case.
