The Government Meteorologist telegraphed to-day: —"Northerly winds, .strong to gale, changing to southerly after about 24 hours to 36 hours; the weather appears likely to be cloudy, and unsettled; heavy rain is to be expected, with rivers flooded; bai-ometer tailing, but rising after about 24 hours "to 36 hours; sea heavy; tides good."
