Of these 9645 paid on incomes undor £~00 a year; 700 were between £700 and £800"; 446 were between £'800 and £900 ; 376 were between £900 and £1000, 879 were between £1000 and £1500; 355 wore between £1500 and £2000; 286 were between £2000 and £3000; 140 were between £3000 and £'4000; 78 wore between £4000 and £•5000; 70 were between £5000 and £7000: 74 were between £7000 and £10,000: while 118 paid income tax on ancomes above £10,000 a year. A further gave the amounts paid in cash. The largest class on the scale arranged T.as that which paid over £50 as income tax. 1341. persons were in this class.
