WEDDING

A very pretty wedding was celebrated in the Mangatoki Union Church at noon on Thursday, July 31st, the contracting parties being Miss Ellen Dawbin second daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Dawbin, of Mangatoki, and Mr James Edward Tebbutt, of Eltham. The church was prettily decorated by friends, and tho ceremony, performed by the Rev. Mr Robertson, was fully choral, the wedding hymn being sung by the church choir, and the Wedding March played by Miss Alice Phillips. The bride looked charming in Chinese satin, with veil and orange blossoms. She was attended by Miss Agnes Dawbin, dressed in pink, with plumed hat of black velvet, and Miss May Tebbutt, in cream. The bridegroom w:as attended by Mr Tebbutt as groomsman 'and Mr Moses as best man. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a fine gig horse, and that of the bride to the bridegroom a gold watch albert. The bridesmaids received a gold brooch and a silver trinket box. The wedding presents were very numerous, and included many valuable and useful articles. After the ceremony the guests repaired to the hall, where a sumptuous wedding breakfast was partaken of. In the evening a social was held, at which Mr and Mrs Dawbin entertained their friends, and a riglit royal time was spent. Songs and recitations were contributed by Messrs Walters and Astbury. Mrs Beesley supplied the music, and the duties of M.C'e were taken by Messrs R. Dawbin, junr., and A. Rich. The bride and bridegroom were present in the grand march, after which they motored south for the honeymoon. The bride's travelling dress was a navy blue costume with black hat, white muff, stole and plumes. *
